Is this art imitating life? Ken Watanabe, who has been fighting his own life-or-death battle with leukaemia from age 30, plays Saeki, a 49-years-old advertising executive diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer ' s. DIrector Tsutsumi choses to tell the story from a subjective point of view, showing how the commonplace world gradually melts into bewildering patterns and meanings. Watanabe ' s convincing performance reveals the character ' s confuion, terror and despair.
